In terms of design, the Moto G6 Play gets all the hand-me-downs from the Moto G6 family and the Moto G5 family before it -- some fit better than others. In hand, the Moto G6 Play feels dense and solid. It's not water-resistant, but Motorola says that it's splash proof aka don't spill your coffee on it or at least no more than a few drops.
On the back, is a fingerprint reader that's cleverly incorporated into the Motorola logo. Out of all the rear fingerprint readers I've used, the belly button-shaped reader on the Moto G6 Play is the absolute easiest to find and use without looking. The Moto G6 Play's software isn't flashy. It runs a fairly stock version of Android 8.
For the price, it's hard to outshine the all-glass, big-screen Moto G6
The tweaks Motorola does add are thoughtful and fun. I mean who doesn't love making a double karate chop motion to turn on the flashlight? In use, this isn't as horrible as it sounds. Images, websites and videos look good on the display. The only time I ran into trouble was in direct sunlight trying to take photos.
The display was nearly impossible to use as a viewfinder. The middle of Samsung's new Galaxy S20 devices is powerful and large, without being ridiculous. I have a Moto G 1st generation, I believe. It used to be simple to connect it to my PC Windows 8.
How to connect Moto G with PC through USB cable? (for Moto E and Moto X as well)
Upon connection a small window would pop up showing various folders containing files, allowing me to copy and paste files of my choice. But, more recently when I connected the USB cable nothing happened. There was no pop-up window. I learned to check settings to see that Media device MTP is selected, but still nothing. I can however transfer photos from the phone using the Camera PTP setting.
So, I found this site and followed the advice. I downloaded and installed Motorola Device Manager. I see the two programs in Control panel. The Device Manager icon appeared in the system tray, and when I clicked it some additional set-up occured apparently. Once your phone is connected to the PC, PC did detect it. Did you check the file explorer on the PC? Also, on the phone, you can try to enable USB debugging under Settings — developer options to see where it helps. On neither machine does the phone Moto X Pure Edition appear. How can this be fixed?
Did you see any notifications on the phone? And how exactly do you do that? The Motorola Device Manager complete with USB drivers does absolutely nothing and even rebooting the phone while connected to the computer does not cause the phone to show up in either Windows or Mac OS. I thought in the latest version of Android the phone would just be recognized as a drive.
There are no changes on USB functions.

However the USB notification bar was not showing up on my phone, so I cannot chose the correct mode to upload my photos. My PC will not upload my photos and videos from my phone. Please can you help? Then the Samsung OS started glitching and rebooting times to get a stable boot that would only support texting without crashing happened on 2 of them , then the screen broke, so I bought a Moto G3 as a replacement to see if it lasts longer with fewer problems.

Can I transfer the Samsung backup files on my PC to the Moto directly, in order to bypass the need for both phones to be working? But for photos and videos, they are normal files in the backup that can be copied to G3 manually. Phones logs or SMS messages are saved in special format. I have a 32gb sandisk microsdhc. Even you can set the default to MTP in developer options, it will not work in Nexus and Moto devices. Can you boot into fast boot? You may check other communities where rooting and flashing phones are discussed. If I try and transfer files from the phone to my PC with it in this condition will it work? There are no easys to transfer files without booting up the phone. If the phone can boot into recovery mode, you may try to use adb in recovery mode to get pull some files to the PC.
